An old retaining wall stood in the way of creating the larger, level paved area the client desired, and its position made it completely inaccessible to machinery. This meant all demolition, earthworks, and construction had to be completed by hand.
Furthermore, the existing irrigation system was no longer adequate for the proposed new layout. It needed to be entirely re-channelled and updated to support the re-configured garden.
